Our mission is to teach horsemanship, not just riding; by striving for excellence in the care and training of the horse, and practicing safety in the proper handling and riding techniques of the horse. All of this should be done in a way that the horse understands what we are asking of him. This is accomplished by using the tried and true EQUI-VENTURE standards of DEDICATION, SAFETY, DISCIPLINE, EDUCATION and DETERMINATION.

A horse loves freedom, and the weariest old work horse will roll on the ground or break into a lumbering gallop when he is turned loose into the open.

We here at EQUI-VENTURE would like to extend a warm and friendly welcome to you, and tell you a little about our facility. Being located near the MD/ PA line makes us convenient for your equestrian needs. We are just minutes away from towns like Westminster, Taneytown, New Windsor and Reisterstown in Maryland and Littlestown, Gettysburg and Hanover in Pennsylvania. Local Maryland and Pennsylvania USPC and 4H clubs are just around the corner. There are numerous parks and equestrian trails just minutes away.

ABOUT THE FACILITY: Our equestrian centre is located off the main road on a quiet lane that runs along a preservation. The farm is easily accesible with our tree lined driveway. The stable is situated on 40 beautiful acres of flat land and gently rolling hills. The barn and indoor are modern and maintained. Our lounge is nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. There are kitchen appliances, a TV, VCR, and a library. Our office is is located in the lounge. The lounge/office is heated in the winter and air conditioned in the summer for our clients' comfort. A restroom facility is also provided.

Our modern and beautiful stable has 17 stalls that are 14 ft. X 12 ft. There is a hot and cold water wash rack with heat lamps. The feed room is horse proof. Our tack room is neat and organized with spaces for our boarders' tack and equipment. Additional storage is available in our loft. In the near future a washer and dryer will be available. There is a parking lot that has some spaces for horse trailers.

Our riding facilities include a small 45 ft. round pen, as well as, a large 70 ft. round pen. We have an 80 ft. X 100 ft. lighted indoor arena complete with dressage letters & schooling jumps. To help keep our equine friends healthy and sound, our footing is routinely maintained to help minimize dust and to keep the footing even and soft, yet firm. We have a large grass arena with a jumping course. The jumps are colorful and of show quality. An outdoor arena is currently under construction. This arena will be large enough for a dressage arena. We have started cross country and trail courses. There is access to fields and trails to ride in for pleasure.

Our 40 acres have large pastures and smaller paddocks for customized turn out care if needed. Fencing is a combination of PVC and electric tape. The pastures are routinely mowed, rotated and rested to get the maximum use of grazing. All turnout areas have large water tubs that are kept clean and filled. In the winter, these tubs are heated to ensure that the horses are able to have access to water. Most of the pastures have run-in sheds. These sheds are kept clean.
