Our
mission is to teach horsemanship, not just riding; by striving for excellence in the care and training of the horse, and practicing
safety in the proper handling and riding techniques of the horse. All of this should be done in a way that the horse
understands what we are asking of him. This is accomplished by using the tried and true EQUI-VENTURE standards of DEDICATION,
SAFETY, DISCIPLINE, EDUCATION and DETERMINATION.

LEASING & EQUI-SHARING
OPTIONS for EVEC HORSES / PONIES We encourage all people that are interested in ownership to first consider the expense
and time required to properly care for a horse / pony. (Please see our Sales section below). Sometimes after this is
given some thought by the prospective owner, purchasing a horse / pony may not be the best option. The next best thing is
leasing. Expenses can be shared in a lot of cases. We lease out to EVEC members some of our school horses, privately owned
horses and occasionally a school master. There are several options available for most leases. Fees will depend on whether the horse /pony is stalled or kept out in the pasture.
Please refer to our Fee Schedule. All leases run for 3 months at a time with the exception of the Free Lease.
A 30 days written notice is required if either party decides to terminate at the end of the lease period. The lease will automatically
renew for another 3 months otherwise. The lessee
must also take at least one paid lesson each week with all Lease Options. The lessee receives $5 discount per lesson for using
his / her leased horse. This lesson fee is NOT included in the lease rates. NOTE: There is no discount for any lessons with any of our outside
instructors. Lessees must provide their own tack and equipment. Please use the link below the lease descriptions to see what EVEC
horses and ponies are available for leasing.
Lessee is the exclusive rider / handler. Allows for five 90-minute sessions per week or approved usage
for shows, club activities or trail riding. One weekly paid lesson is to be used as one of sessions. This lesson fee is NOT
included in the lease fee. The horse / pony is to have 2 work days off per week. Lessee pays for all vet, equine dentist, farrier and all other
leased horse / pony expenses.
HALF EQUI-LEASE Lessee shares the horse / pony with another lessee(s). Selected
days / times will be scheduled by both parties with the stable manager. If there is no other lessee, the owner / stable manager
acts as the other half lessee. Allows for four 90-minute sessions per week or approved usage for shows, club activities
or trail riding. One weekly paid lesson is to be used as one of sessions. This lesson fee is NOT included in the lease fee. The horse / pony is to have 2 work days off per week. Each lessee pays for half of all vet, equine dentist, farrier
and all other leased horse/pony expenses.
PARTIAL
EQUI-LEASE Lessee shares the horse / pony with up to 4 other
lessee(s). Selected days / times will be scheduled by all parties with the stable manager. If there are not 4 lessees, the owner / stable manager
acts as the other lessees. Allows for three 90-minute sessions /week or approved usage for shows, club activities or trail riding.
One weekly paid lesson is to be used as one of sessions. This lesson fee is NOT included in the lease fee. The horse / pony is to have 2 work days off per
week. Each
lessee pays for 1/4th of all vet, equine dentist, farrier and all other leased horse/pony expenses.
No lease fee because there is no significant lost income from free leasing
the horse/pony. Leases
run indefinitely until either party terminates. If lessee no longer wants the horse / pony, the animal is returned to the
owner. Lessee is
the exclusive rider / handler and is the "acting‟owner. One weekly paid lesson is required for the free lease of an EVEC horse/pony. The horse / pony is to have 2 work days off per week. Lessee pays for all vet, equine dentist, farrier and all other leased horse
/ pony expenses.
This option is a great way to get into a regular riding schedule
without being committed to a 3 month lease. (Additional fees will be charged for any approved School Master use.) The fees
depend on the number of days each week the EVEC member wants to ride and are paid monthly in advance. - Paid monthly in advance the Saturday before the first of the month.
- The school horses on the Equi-Share List are available for the participant
to choose from. Participant
must have instructor/stable manager approval for the selected horse/pony. This is based on the participant's ability to
properly ride / handle the desired horse / pony.
- Allows up to the number of reserved 60-minute sessions / week or approved usage for in-stable
shows, in-stable club activities or trail riding on the farm - in addition to weekly paid lesson.
- All ride times must be scheduled in advance and are on a "Use It or
Lose It‟ basis.
- Horse
/ pony may have several riders / handlers.
- The horse / pony must have at least 2 work days off per week.
- No vet, equine dentist, farrier or any other equi-leased horse / pony expenses.
- Includes tack and equipment rental.

SALES
So you think that you are ready to own a horse / pony? Please take
a few minutes to complete our questionnaire to make sure. Since we operate a horse rescue, it is very important
to us that a prospective owner knows upfront that the initial cost is NOT the expensive part. We want you to know what
to expect in terms of responsibility, morality, and expenses to care for that horse / pony for many years. Please
consider volunteering at a stable or rescue to see what is involved with horse care; the good and the bad. Make sure
that you have taken formal lessons. Try the different riding disciplines and activities to make sure how you want to
ride. Do you know what type or breed of horse / pony will do that job for you? Be truthful with yourself about
your riding abilities, knowledge, training capabilities, as well as, the expectations for your future riding endeavors.
Then try to lease a horse / pony for several months to make sure you can afford the money AND time that owning this animal
demands. Still,
if one finds that the numerous benefits of having his her own horse / pony is worth all of that, then we encourage you to
pursue your dreams and equi-ventures! While we offer many horses / ponies for adoptions, we also sell higher quality
and more trained horses. These animals
are not necessarily more expensive than their adoptive counterparts. We just know more about their background, health,
training, performance record and history. However, DO NOT rule out the rescue horse! Every horse deserves a chance
and almost every rescue horse (as long as there are no health issues) will also perform just as well as the horses / ponies
intended for us to sell.
We take pride in suiting the rider and horse to each other. We offer a trial period for every animal whether sold or
adopted. Payment arrangements can be made for most sales and adoptions. Please click on
the link below to see what horses / ponies we currently have listed for sale and adoption.
